Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS)

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are highly reactive molecules containing oxygen. ROS are formed endogenously as a byproduct of the normal metabolism and play important roles in cell signaling and homeostasis. ROS have diverse array of physiological and pathological effects within living cells depending on the extent, timing, and location of its production.
